From Rhetoric to Reality: Zerogen Advancing IGCC with CCS Low Emission Technology

About

The need to enable deep cuts in CO2 emissions while sustaining the economic security of nations is providing opportunities to develop clean coal technologies that can cut CO2 emissions by up to 90%. However, despite the rhetoric the path to large-scale clean coal power plants being deployed is challenging.

ZeroGen, based in Australia, is the world's leading developer of IGCC with CCS technologies. It has generated significant practical and contemporary technical, commercial, regulatory and stakeholder engagement knowledge and learnings in developing its $1.7 billion ZeroGen stage-one project. This is on schedule to commence operations by 2012 followed by a large-scale plant operational by 2017.
