Evan Perkoski, International Security Program Research Fellow, Wins Patricia Weitsman Award

International Security Program Research Fellow Evan Perkoski, a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania, is the 2015 winner of the Patricia Weitsman Award for Outstanding International Security Studies Section Graduate Paper.  He received this award at the recent Annual Meeting of the International Studies Association (ISA), which was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from February 18–21, 2015.

Perkoski's paper, "State and Security Defections in Subnational Conflicts:  Understanding Variation across Violent and Nonviolent Campaigns," was presented at the 2014 ISA Annual Meeting, which was held in Toronto, Canada.

Perkoski's dissertation explores the fragmentation of militant organizations and its consequences for their survival and violent behavior.
