Nils Olsen

Research Fellow

Nils Olsen is a joint Master in Public Policy and Master of Business Administration candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Business School. He studies how U.S. foreign policy and private capital can work together to drive sustainable development in emerging markets.

Nils conducts research as part of the Africa Futures Project, focusing on African conflict and security, climate security and the energy transition, and economic development. He is also a Rubenstein Fellow at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership.

Prior to graduate school, Nils served as an Active Duty U.S. Army officer, with distinguished experience in Europe and Africa. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2014, where he studied Political Science and Portuguese.
