The sessions covered a broad range of countries and topics, including the relatively stable states such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, to 'failed' states like Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, as well as theoretical issues of legitimacy, the political and economic realities of daily life in the Middle East, and the past and future U.S. role in the region.
