Information gathering

IP (Internet Protocol) addresses are used to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer the website. Cookies are used to gather session information such as demographic information, time spent on site, keywords searched, and entry/exit pages. We do not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information. This means that user sessions will be tracked, but users will remain anonymous.

Use of information

The Belfer Center’s Communications staff uses the above information to generate aggregate site reports that help improve site architecture and content to better meet user needs.

User Generated Content (Including Comments)

The Belfer Center encourages visitors of our website to interact with each other in a respectful and meaningful manner including submitting comments and replies within the discussion board of select content types. Any information you disclose in your submission of comments, including name, email, website, and the comment itself is property of the Belfer Center and visible on internal servers. Additionally, information regarding name and comments shall be public on the Belfer Center website once a comment or reply is approved for submission on the website. Comments are up to the discretion and approval of Belfer Center moderators.

If you choose to use the Belfer Center website, including but not limited to RSS, API, software and other downloads, you will be agreeing to abide by all of the terms and conditions of these Terms of Service between you and the Belfer Center.

The Belfer Center reserves the right to reject or remove thereafter any content from appearing on its site that does not meet its user generated content policy.
